New York Red Bulls II continued their strong start to the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season, edging Chicago Fire FC II 3-2 on Sunday evening at MSU Soccer Park to remain unbeaten through four matches.

The hosts struck first in the 14th minute through defender Matthew Dos Santos, who curled a brilliant left-footed free kick over the wall and inside the near post to open his account for the season.

Red Bulls II doubled their lead shortly after when midfielder Ibrahim Kasule linked up with forward Julian Hall at the top of the box. Hall took a sharp first touch, turned, and fired a clinical strike into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Chicago battled back with a goal in the second half to cut the deficit, but New York responded just before full time. In the 89th minute, a corner kick clearance fell to Kasule at the edge of the area. The Ugandan midfielder calmly settled the ball and rifled home the eventual game-winner to give Red Bulls II a 3-1 lead.

Chicago added a stoppage-time goal to make it 3-2, but it wasn’t enough to deny Red Bulls II all three points.

With the win, New York improves to 3-0-1 on the season, tying the best start to a campaign in club history.
